There is strong concern in Nicosia about the new Turkish provocation in the Pyla buffer zone area, Philenews informs.
The construction of a road linking the area with occupied Arsos, apart from being an illegal occupation of buffer zone territory, is in fact a bridgehead that offers a military advantage to the occupying forces.
This is an element that certainly cannot be disregarded by the Cyprus Peace Force because it is a flagrant violation of the status quo in the area.
We also expect that there will be strong protest reactions from people from both communities who still believe in the peaceful coexistence on the island.
