Russia uses almost all the weapons it has in the war against Ukraine. Before the start of a full-scale invasion, Russian experts stated that they would “take” Kyiv in three days, but today the 170th day of the heroic confrontation of Ukrainians against the “Russian world” is already underway, and every day the Russian army is literally “running out of steam”, any strategic victories of the Russian Federation wasn’t achieved.
According to The New York Times, every day the Russian army loses about 500 people wounded and killed. This suggests that the military equipment and means of protection of the Russians are not able to save the lives of their soldiers and conduct offensive operations.
All the weapons that Russia uses in the war against Ukraine or offers to other for sale countries are just the legacy of the Soviet Union, Russian defense industry has not invented anything new over the years, and they also use Chinese and Western components. For example, Russia buys some components for missiles from AliExpress, the Chinese online store. This conclusion was reached by the American experts of the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS), who dismantled the surviving missiles from the Tornado-S MLRS and it turned out that the main unit was assembled from microcircuits, connectors and capacitors, which can be easily bought on a Chinese online trading platform. They belong to the commercial class of products, not the military, and are extremely unreliable for missiles.
Also, British journalists found out that the armored vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces are not as reliable as the command claims. For example, the armor of the Ka-52 «Alligator» helicopter and the Ural «Tornado-U» truck can be penetrated with small arms. It became known after examining samples of Russian equipment that was destroyed in Ukraine.
In Ukraine, Russia is fighting with old weapons, which leads to a large number of civilian casualties. For example, the 3M-14 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missile hits a target with a 33% probability, and about 30 % of the missiles hit civilian targets.
And the Grad MLRS shells are still a Soviet rocket system developed back in 1960 and have extremely low accuracy rates, which leads to significant damage of the settlements of Ukraine.
Analyzing slow advancement of Russian troops and how hard the Russian army got stuck on the Ukrainian front, we can conclude that Russian weapons do not meet the requirements of modern highly mobile and high-precision warfare, all innovative developments of Russian weapons turned out to be a bluff, and the status of the second the army of the world certainly does not correspond to reality.
