Reuters reports that more than 50 civilians were evacuated from the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol in a convoy of vehicles bearing United Nations insignia. The people were taken to the village of Bezimenne in an area of Donetsk under the control of Russian occupation forces.

The media reported that Valeriy Gerasimov, the Chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, was allegedly wounded in Ukraine, near Izyum in the Kharkiv region.
Investigators from the Conflict Intelligence Team reported that Russian Defense Ministry and National Guard of Russia planes were spotted near the Ukrainian border in the Russian city Belgorod on April 30. And on May 1, they were joined by another Ministry of Defense aircraft and two Mi-8 transport helicopters escorted by Ka-52 attack helicopters.
According to CIT, one of the helicopters brought Gerasimov, who soon left for Moscow by plane. Gerasimov is reported to be alive and well.

Soldiers from Mariupol informed that evacuating civilians from Azovstal steelworks was an extremely difficult task. Soldiers are also hoping to evacuate severely wounded military personnel: “They need proper care, decent food, painkillers, bandages. Their evacuation is being discussed, but no details are known. We know and hope that the process has not stalled and talks are in progress. We hope they will be taken to safety.”

The occupiers began shelling Azovstal steelworks again as soon as the evacuation of some Ukrainians was over. The commander of the 12th operational brigade of the National Guard, Denys Shleha, who is now in Mariupol, told this on TV news.
Before that, the Russians had complied with the ceasefire for two days. According to the commander, the occupiers are again shelling the plant with all kinds of weapons.
