The Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, met yesterday (13/2) with the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, on the occasion of a ceremony organized by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Cyprus for the 75th anniversary of the closure of the British detention camps for Jewish Holocaust survivors in Karaolos, Dekelia and Xylotympou.
Earlier yesterday R. Mirvis held a private meeting with the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Anita Dimitriou, and then met with the Archbishop of Cyprus, Mr. George, with whom he discussed issues concerning the religious freedoms of the members of the Jewish Community of Cyprus.
