Explosions in Belgorod: Russia Is Trying to Represent Ukraine as a Terrorist State

On October 13, 2022, there were explosions in the Russian city of Belgorod, which is located near the border with Ukraine.

After the work of the air defense, part of the downed missile may have fallen down and damaged the upper part of apartment building on Gubkin Street in the Russian city. According to another version, which was confirmed by users of social networks, S-300 rockets were launched in the Belgorod region in the direction of the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, but the first launch was not successful and the rocket was supposed to fall somewhere in the city. Numerous photos and videos show smoke rising above the building. It is reported that the day before, local residents heard a series of loud explosions.

After this incident, Russian social networks and federal TV channels exploded with accusations towards Ukraine, that allegedly Ukrainian armed forces are carrying out terrorist acts and shelling residential buildings on the territory of Russia. That is, Russia is trying to reclassify its failures as “Ukrainian terrorist acts”. It should also be noted that not a single person was injured after this incident. But if you analyze how many residential buildings and civilians, including children, were killed by the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, it becomes clear who is the real aggressor and terrorist country.

We will remind that as of October 13, 2022, according to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, 6,221 civilians were killed in Ukraine, and 9,371 civilians were injured. Since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 422 children have died and 808 children have been injured.

The Russian Federation is a real terrorist country. Killing of the civilian population, shelling of peaceful cities and civilian objects by the army of the aggressor country are war crimes and crimes against humanity, according to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court’s Articles 7 and 8 and a gross violation of the norms of four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their additional protocols. The Russian army directly violates the rights of Ukrainian children to life and safety, which are guaranteed by The Hague and Geneva Conventions and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
