Starting from July 31, 2022, the Russian-occupied the Ukrainian Crimean Peninsula began to be subjected to attacks and explosions at military facilities of the Russian army. It is worth noting that the Russian side does not directly blame Ukraine for this, the Kremlin finds any reasons, but not the recognition of Ukrainian attacks. An interesting fact is that in almost all cases, the military leadership of the Russian Federation refers to the «negligence» of soldiers and personnel of the facilities where the emergency occurred, but this month no one was punished, which once again confirms the fact that Ukraine launched a counteroffensive and the war moved to the territory of the Crimea, according to Moldova News.
On August 20, at about 08:17 am, an explosion occurred near the headquarters of the RF Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, in the Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russians. A protege of Russia, head of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, in his Telegram channel has announced a downed unmanned aerial vehicle. According to other sources, the kamikaze drone was not shot down, but crashed into the roof of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, causing a fire at the top of the building. As always, the Russian Ministry of Defense hasn’t official comments on these incidents.
Later that morning, new explosions occurred at the airfield in Bakhchysarai and near Yevpatoria. In the morning, the sounds of several explosions were heard near the village of Zaozirne near Yevpatoria in the annexed Crimea, Russian and Crimean media reported, citing local residents. The Russian authorities of the annexed Crimea, after these reports, has announced «the work of the Russian air defense system.»
The Russian authorities are carefully trying to hide the fact that the Ukrainian army can now easily reach Russian military facilities in the occupied Crimea with its missiles and attack drones, because the reputation of Vladimir Putin and his entourage is in a very fragile position. Putin wants to end this war as soon as possible or at least freeze the conflict, but Ukraine has felt the strength and stands its ground. Negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow is possible only after Ukraine gains control over the internationally recognized borders of its country.
