On the night of October 18, as a result of a brilliant landing operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the village of Poima on the left bank of the Kherson region. This settlement is located 6 km from the Antonivka Bridge. Thus, the bridgehead for the liberation of the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine is steadily expanding.
The Ukrainian army is fighting against the stronger opponent in extremely difficult conditions: the Russians have concentrated a huge amount of artillery and MLRS along the front line. Also, all the positions that the Ukrainian military attacks are completely mined. The Russian armed forces actively use reconnaissance drones, with the help of which the smallest changes in the situation on the battlefield are fixed. But, nevertheless, Ukrainian soldiers are successful. Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike groups advanced approximately 1 km in the direction of Verbove in the Zaporizhizhia sector — all the enemy’s attempts to counterattack have failed. Also, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced east of Klishchiivka — the Ukrainian army maintains full fire control over the Bakhmut-Gorlivka highway, complicating the supply of weapons for the Russian troops dug in in Bakhmut.
Ukraine has been at war with Russia for 20 months, making it impossible for it to invade Europe. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have serious combat experience and skills in modern warfare. On the contrary, the Russian army is rapidly degrading. Western weapons demonstrate superiority over their Russian counterparts. Ukraine will liberate all territories occupied by Russia and rid the world of the threat of Putin’s territorial expansion.
