The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reports that Anatolii Sharii, the blogger, was arrested in Spain on the demand of Ukrainian intelligence. Sharii is accused of treason and the crimes covered by the article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violations of citizens’ equality based on their racial or ethnical identity, religious convictions, disability, or other characteristics). The arrest was possible due to the SSU’s cooperation with the National police in Spain and the office of the attaché for the MIA of Spain in Ukraine.

During May 4, the occupiers shelled Hirske and Komyshuvakha villages as well as the cities of Severodonetsk, Novodruzhesk, and Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast. Five civilians died from the shrapnel wounds they had suffered because of shelling.

Ukrainian firefighters localized a forest fire near the checkpoint “Dityatki” in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. They are located in the school and in the club, supervised permanently by Russian soldiers. People sleep on the floor in corridors. They are fed with balanda (prison food; very thin meatless soup). The only available hygiene tool is a sink with cold water, one for hundreds of people. The men are beaten and tortured for any disobedience.
In the school in Bezimenne, the first case of tuberculosis has been registered; therefore, the occupants turned the school gym into an isolation unit, where they are keeping a large amount of people. In the Kozatske camp, a man died because the occupiers had refused to call an ambulance for him.
In addition, the men have been informed they will take part in the “parade” on May 9 in Mariupol as “captives.”

“We are calling on the global community to evacuate the civilians. Ukraine is ready to discontinue the transit of Russian gas through its territory if European countries agree on refusing it, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy proclaims.
It is noteworthy that the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine is in process, notwithstanding the war. This is happening because of the transit treaty between Naftogaz and Gazprom, which was signed for 5 years in the end of 2019.

Hanna Ivanivna, the retiree who came out to meet Ukrainian soldiers with a red Bolshevik flag, curses the Russian army for ruining her home.
Notwithstanding the propaganda that had been spread in the neighborhood, her son did not take Hanna Ivanivna to Russia, and she realized that Russian occupiers were shelling her home.
According to Hanna Ivanivna, she came in front of Ukrainian warriors, having mistook them for occupiers. She was worried about her life and trying to “pacify” them with the Bolshevik flag, so that they “did not destroy” the village as well as Ukraine. Now, she is feeling like a “betrayer.”
