Chanukah in Cyprus 2022

Chanukah in Cyprus 2022
LARNACA

The Jewish Community of Cyprus will hold two events this year.
You are invited to attend and cover both cultural events.
The Jewish holiday of Chanukah is celebrated for eight days and, as per the Hebrew calendar, starts on the 25th day of Kislev.
Chanukah this year begins Sunday, 18 December and runs through to Monday, 26th of December.
Chanukah is celebrated across the world and covered by the media on a large scale. Noted for its cultural importance, Chanukah is part of the winter holiday schedule in all developed countries. The word Chanukah means «dedication» or «induction» and the festival is celebrated with
reverence by the Jewish community across the world with the lighting of the first candle of the Menorah — a nine-branched candelabra. And, according to tradition, an additional branch is lit every successive night, up until the final night of the ritual.
