Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell have announced preparations for the integration of Ukraine into European structures in a joint video-address following the European Council’s decision to grant Ukraine EU candidate status.
Ukraine’s and EU top diplomats emphasized that this was a crucial moment for the EU, for Ukraine, and for peace and democracy on our shared continent.
‘Russia’s military aggression will not succeed in depriving people in Europe of the right to live a normal, decent life. Ukraine will win. Europe will prevail’, they said.
Foreign Minister and High Representative have announced the beginning of preparations for the integration of Ukraine into European structures.
‘Today marks the beginning of a long journey that we will walk together. We will immediately launch the preparation for the integration of Ukraine into European structures and ultimate membership into the European Union’, they announced.
Dmytro Kuleba and Josep Borrell are confident that with the historical decision to grant Ukraine EU candidate status, the EU sends a very strong message: Ukrainian people belong to the European family. Ukraine’s future is with the EU.
‘Ukraine and the EU stand together for peace’, they concluded.
