For nearly a month, Ukraine has held back the onslaught of a full-scale war unleashed by Putin on February 24. This war, conceived by the Kremlin dictator as a cakewalk in which the Russian army would meet with no resistance, has turned into a deadliest war that has already claimed more than 15,000 Russian troops, many more of them injured and maimed.
The Russian military machine acts blindly and destructively: it destroys everything that comes in its path and does not distinguish between combatants and non-combatants. Its goal is to defeat and subdue. The Russian military strikes a crushing blows on Ukrainian cities: the archaic strategy and tactics of the Russian army, copied from the Soviet one, completely bogged down in Ukraine, which managed to quickly master and apply the methodology of modern warfare in real combat conditions. Huge Russian convoys and tank units are destroyed from the rear by maneuver attacks with the help of modern weapons. Since the Second World War, Russia has not had such colossal losses of military equipment and such human casualties in a short period of time.
But there are still a lot of weapons in Russia: old, Soviet, but they function and destroy. It can destroy not only Kyiv. It will destroy Warsaw, Berlin, and Paris. This surreal plot, unfortunately, is absolutely possible, and even Europe, which constantly “expresses concern”, seems to have understood the reality of the Russian threat. In Warsaw, bomb shelters are already being checked, and France suddenly discovered that its own armed forces, apart from NATO and a nuclear arsenal, simply do not exist. In case of war, Paris would be easy prey for the Russian horde, because Europe has not seriously fought since 1945, and there simply are not enough military force which could resist a real military threat. Political weakness and unwillingness to bear the economic losses from the real sanctions that should have been adopted in 2014 drove Europe into a geopolitical trap. Today, Putin goes for broke and openly says that he is no longer interested in further sanctions and possible negotiations. The Kremlin has suffered enormous losses, and therefore will go all the way.
Therefore, the fate of the Western world, which Putin has de facto declared his enemy, is being decided in Ukraine today. Putin always destroys all his enemies. And he still has resources. Serious difficulties are only in the human resource: in the war with Ukraine, almost half of the contingent assigned for the so-called “special operation” has already been lost. Putin is chaotically trying to involve the CSTO countries and mercenaries of all stripes in the war, but the success is very modest. Ukraine has a well-trained army and many patriots who are ready to give their lives to defend their country, but there is a shortage of weapons capable of effectively destroying the Russian military colossus.
In this fateful time for the whole world, Ukraine needs military assistance more than ever: we will do everything ourselves and in a short time, the only question is the resource. Europe must wake up and realize that if Ukraine falls, then Russian tanks will be in every European capital, and this will be a global geopolitical defeat of the civilized world.
