Lobbyists of the Russian Federation in Western countries are calling for a dialogue with Putin, who receives ballistics from the DPRK and is negotiating the deal with Iran, which threatens not only increasing attacks against Ukraine, but also the use of missile strikes against Europe.
According to John Kirby, the White House National Security Council Coordinator, Russia got several dozen ballistic missiles from the DPRK, which were used during massive attacks on Ukrainian cities on December 29 and January 2, respectively. In this regard, the United States convened a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the supply of North Korean ballistics to the Russian Federation. The Kremlin is negotiating the acquisition of ballistic missiles from Iran, Kirby also noted, saying that he called on the US Congress to approve new financial assistance for Ukraine in the amount of more than 60 billion US dollars. Russia’s use of North Korean ballistics is an alarming sign for the West, because if Putin is not stopped in Ukraine, he will come with war to European territory, where his army will commit similar crimes. Thus, any restrictions on the supply of long-range missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be lifted — this is an investment in the peaceful future of Europe and the national security of its countries.
Russian propaganda is activating the information front in Western European countries. In particular, the first deputy chief of staff in Putin’s administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, has ordered to spread in the France and Germany’s media narratives on the destructiveness of anti-Russian sanctions for Europe, as well as the inappropriateness of further support for Ukraine. In this way, Russia is trying to pave the way for upcoming negotiations with the West, using economic issues as a clue. As always, economics and politics intertwine, and the Kremlin is very interested in lifting the sanctions that are slowly but steadily eroding its economy, in turn affecting the offensive potential of the Russian army.
On the other hand, Russian propaganda is trying to restore its influence in Europe: At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 600 officials were expelled from European countries, of which 400, according to experts, were Russian intelligence officers operating under diplomatic cover. This was the most powerful blow to the positions of Russian intelligence services in recent history. Putin is not ready to retreat, but wants to convince the West that supporting Ukraine is inappropriate. Accordingly, if Russia gets revenge, it will be a strategic defeat for the West, as everyone would see the effectiveness of the Kremlin’s manipulations. Thus, the emergence of new hot points made by Moscow and its allies is a matter of time.
The West must take steps to counter Russia, which is consistently increasing its escalation. If the West ignores Russia’s gross violation of international law by encroaching on the territorial integrity of other countries and committing war crimes against civilians, this will have fatal consequences for humanity. All Putin’s talk is a bluff: Russian propaganda is calling to stop arms supplies to Ukraine, while Russia is replenishing its arsenals of weapons against Ukrainians. Putin does not want peace, but only a tactical pause to restore the offensive potential of his army. If the Kremlin does not find itself in complete international isolation and does not suffer a strategic defeat, this will be a fatal mistake of the West, which will cause the greatest war in human history, the basis of which is being rapidly formed by Russia.
