The Cyprus Police participated in a new joint operation for the repatriation of third-country nationals, coordinated by the European agency Frontex, in cooperation with the Greek authorities.
This is the tenth participation of the Cyprus Police in joint operations with European countries and under the coordination of Frontex.
Specifically, members of the Aliens and Migration Service – YAM participate today in a coordinated operation of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency – Frontex, for the forced repatriation of 16 third-country nationals, who were staying illegally in Cyprus, on a joint flight carried out by the Greek authorities.
From the beginning of this year until today, September 27, 2023, the total number of third-country nationals who have returned to their countries of origin, through voluntary or forced return operations, amounts to 6,918, while arrivals in Cyprus were 7,592.
