In the villages of Sumy region there were cases reported that invaders had abducted and tortured people, said Dmytro Zhyvytskiy, the Head of the Regional Military Administration.

On March 18, in the Luhansk region, the Russian occupants killed 4 civilians and wounded 10 more, said the Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai.

Enemy shelling damaged 54 objects of infrastructure, including 19 apartment buildings, 19 private houses, and 2 hospitals.

23 settlements in the Luhansk region are fully and 7 more partially left without gas supply, which in total accounts for around 35 thousand customers. 38 settlements do not have power supply, meaning that more than 100 thousand consumers are left without electricity.

Fighting for the Azovstal steel plant is ongoing in Mariupol, Donetsk region. Russian military forces have basically destroyed the plant by shelling.

‘The situation in Mariupol is horrifying, there are now battles underway for Azovstal. Based on the information we have now, we can say that we have lost this economic giant; one of the largest plants in Europe is being destroyed,’ said Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the Minister of Interior, in a TV channels marathon.

‘We must clearly understand that this is Putin’s direct order to destroy this city and at the same time, of course, one of his key tasks in the war. No matter how this war ends, whatever comes next, his task is not to demilitarize Ukraine,’ he also added.

Juvenile prosecutors: as of the morning of the 24th day of the full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine, 112 children were killed and more than 140 wounded by the occupants. The biggest number of casualties was in Kyiv (57), Kharkiv (36), and Donetsk (28) regions.

Regular bombings and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 489 educational institutions, 69 of them were completely destroyed. The biggest number of damaged schools and kindergartens is in Donetsk region — 138, Kharkiv region  —  77, Kyiv region    —  41, Mykolaiv region    — 39, Sumy region   — 33, and Kherson  region  —  21. In Kyiv (as a separate territorial entity)  there were 43 educational facilities damaged.

Zhytomyr region: At 6:15 am of March 19, in Korosten district, as a result of firing a one-story building was hit by a shell and caught on fire. The building was completely destroyed. At 6:35 a.m., the fire was contained in an area of 500 square meters. At 8:26 the fire was extinguished. No casualties were reported.

Deterioration of air quality is detected in Kyiv: dust concentrations are exceeding the allowed threshold, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.

The reason behind that was fire on the outskirts of the capital, namely fires in Hostomel and Bucha, industrial facilities, as well as the movement of air masses from the source of fire and low wind speed. On the night of March 19, the maximum dust concentration level in the air exceeded the allowed threshold in 2-3 times.

Russian invaders destroyed a ski base in Chernihiv, as reported by the Biathlon.com.ua website. For many years, skiing and biathlon competitions have been held on the territory of this base, including the Ukrainian Championship.

According to the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv region, as a result of a mortar attack on Makariv in Kyiv Oblast launched by Russians on March 18, 7 people died, whereas 5 people were injured. The shelling also destroyed residential buildings and damaged an administrative building and other facilities.

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, reports that Russians hit an underground missile and aircraft ammunition storage in Deliatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

‘We have damage, there is destruction. There is a detonation of ammunition. The number of casualties is still being calculated,’ said Mr. Ignat.

In Kyiv Oblast, there is a threat of flooding the village of Demydiv where fighting continues, as reported by the Kyiv Oblast Council. The water level in the floodplain of the Irpin River has reached the maximum allowable point.

The reason is a destroyed dam. If the water level continues to rise, it will be able to flood the infrastructure, interrupt the process of evacuation and obstruct humanitarian access.

The head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Hennadiy Lahuta, reported, that Russian invaders had denied entry into the Kherson region of trucks with humanitarian aid and did not allow to unload cargo needed by residents of the region.

‘There were the most necessary things, e.g. hygiene products for children and adults, canned goods, meat, semi-finished products, baby food and so on. The trucks also transported a lot of medicines to the region, particularly insulin, which is now urgently needed by lots of residents of the Kherson region,’ said the Governor.

Since the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine, 228 people, including 4 children, have died in Kyiv, whereas 912 people, in particular 16 children, have been injured. This was reported by the Head of the Kyiv City Military-Civil Administration.

Overall, Russian troops have already damaged 36 houses, 5 private estates, 6 schools, and 4 kindergartens in Kyiv. Moreover, there are damaged facades, balconies and windows in 57 houses.

The invaders are forcing people to leave Ukraine for Russia, as reported by the Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko.

Over the past week, a few thousand Mariupol residents have been illegally transported to Russia from warzones.

‘In order to save the lives of Mariupol residents, the Armed Forces of Ukraine moved away from zones of mass crowding used by the aggressor. It is known that captured Mariupol residents were taken to filtration camps, where the invaders checked people’s phones and documents. After the check, some Mariupol residents were rerouted to remote Russian cities, whereas the fate of others is unknown,’ states the city council.

As a result of the latest shelling of Kharkiv by Russian invaders, the civilians, namely a man and a 9-year-old child, were killed, as reported by Oleh Synyehubov, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

At the moment, there are large-scale fires in several districts of Kharkiv; the most affected ones are the area of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, Rohan’ and Saltivka.
