On June 4, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov once again announced his readiness for negotiations. Being unable to defend Russia’s Belgorod Oblast with the rapidly weakening Russian army, the Kremlin has changed its rhetoric, in which there are no threats to the West that sounded previously before a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At the moment, huge losses have weakened the RF Armed Forces, that exceeds all losses in wars and conflicts where the USSR and the Russian Federation participated after 1945. The main thing is not to give Russia a tactical pause and a rest: despite the weakness, Russia still has an industrial and demographic resource that will be used some time after the freezing of military actions. The only way to stop the Russian invaders is to further arm the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During May, the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out 17 massive missile attacks on the rear cities of Ukraine (a total of 20 ballistic and 65 cruise missiles were used), causing destruction and human casualties. The number of Iranian drones that were used against civilian targets during the month amounted to 300 units. The Kremlin cynically talks about negotiations while continuing to kill Ukrainian civilians. This clearly shows Putin’s attitude to Ukraine, which he seeks to occupy: if the Armed Forces of Ukraine had not stopped the Russians on the outskirts of Kyiv in March 2022, the world would have witnessed the largest genocide of an entire nation in the modern history. At the same time, it must be taken into account that Russia will not stop in Ukraine: if its army is not defeated in the Donbas, Putin will have the opportunity to strengthen his army and move to Europe.
Therefore, the liberation of the occupied territories of Ukraine is of particular importance. The territorial integrity of Ukraine is not subject to discussion and must be restored within the generally recognized borders of August 24, 1991. The Armed Forces of Ukraine must receive all the necessary weapons that will provide an effective counteroffensive. If Putin is not stopped in Ukraine, he will start the Third World War.
